Re: Nutrition Rant

Yes, it's been a while. If you've read the previous posts, you know that when I last had my cholesterol checked I was eating a high-fat PaNu.com (now archevore.com) diet. Currently, I'm eating a much lower fat diet consisting mostly of eggs (about 2 a day), potatoes, carrots, Vit D milk, cream, a li...

Re: Workout takes to long

JB, I think you could cut out a few exercises. Looking at Monday, you do hanging leg raises, lying leg raises, and situps. Each work the hip flexors and abs. You could probably cut out two of those exercises. Also, you do two types of crunches: regular and twisting. You could probably cut out the re...

Re: Nutrition Rant

Yeah, I suppose so. Although I wish somebody would just get their act together and provide a huge amount of scientific proof that their nutritional plan works. I'll keep researching. I forgot to mention the American College of Sports Medicine. They issue position stands on various sports topics. Th...

Re: Nutrition Rant

I will, thank you for the links. Have you tried the Zone diet, though? There are some studies in the book on athletes who used it for 6 weeks and it was extremely successful, plus everything Dr. Sears says seems so well backed up and explained. Here I am, once again trying to figure out who's right...

Re: Nutrition Rant

I'm reading the book, "Enter the Zone" by Barry Sears and it's fabulous. The Zone diet has a balance of 40% carbohydrates, 30% protein, and 30% fat. According to the numerous studies listed in the book, it is an almost perfect eating plan. I highly recommend reading it. Before following Sears' reco...

Re: Patrick Smith's Training Log

I'm redesigning my workout schedule since after rereading most of Thomas Kurz's articles I see many errors in it. I'll update this thread once I have finished. Please do. Those articles are packed with info, aren't they? Too much to absorb on one reading. I think you'll find that posting your worko...

Re: Nutrition Rant

It's been a few months since that last post. I've been quite conflicted about what to eat. In Gary Taubes article "What if It's All Been A Big Fat Lie?" http://www.nytimes.com/2002/07/07/magazine/what-if-it-s-all-been-a-big-fat-lie.html?pagewanted=1, he says, after 11 pages of discrediting low-fat d...

Re: Kurz Diet

What are the best diet pills that actually work for weight loss? I would also like to know about diet pills that are healthy, I mean kind to the body but actually work. Has anyone got any tried and tested diet pills that they can recommend? Thks! I doubt you will get a recommendation here for a die...
