Re: Static Stretching When Muscles are Cold

Yep . . That's the case for me also. I can get into a deeper stretch when warmed up in a static stretch.

Re: Taekwon Do Issue

Yeah .. But is that not the whole point of Mr Kurz's method in that you don't need to train 6hours+ a day! Why train 6hours+ 6 days a week when it's said that to gain this level of flexibility takes only 20mins of strength training and stretching to achieve the same results a few times a week, and w...

The dynamic strength exercises are used to prepare your connective tissues ready for isometrics. If you're already at that stage and wish to improve flexibility,i'd concentrate on the stretches themselves. The best thing(in my opinion and personal experience) to help you achieve the side split is pe...

Yeah, I'll probably try that and see how it goes, as I really need these muscles strengthened in order to do something about this serious lack of flexibility in a side split.

Thanks for the help. :)

Hi guys, Hope you all had a good xmas and new year :) This question is mainly for Dragon ... when you say do squats, lunges to front and side. Should these be done in the one workout .. Hi Dragon, I agree with your points. I don't suppose there's much in it, or Mr Kurtz would have mentioned it by now! I think it may be more to do with the timing ! .. If you think about it - it does create a pause before the next movement rather than one continuous motion, which would eliminate the ...

Dynamic Stretching To The Rear !

Hi guys, After following the DVD on stretching to the rear, I noticed that Mr Kurtz tends to flick his foot forward before each rep. I have tended to follow this trend, purley because I copied it from the beginning. However, my instuctor last night asked if I had a sore leg because I was doing this,...

RE:

Thanks jrlefty, I have emailed a copy of those two articles to instructors at my Tae Kwon Do club. I'm currently going over "Science Of Sports Training" and "Stretching Scientifically" in order to get a better understanding of what I need to do, as I need to improve my strength in my legs/adductors....
