Re: Asthma and endurance
Hey yamugna, As I mentioned in my older posts I also suffer from exercise induced asthma, something like laughing hard can also trigger it for me. I did notice that it has started to decrease though (the exercise induced asthma) but i'm not totally free of it. I still do wheeze and cough but thats a...

Re: My struggle
Where is your home country if you don't mind me asking and what type of training do you plan to begin? I dont mind at all :D , I'm from Sudan, i'm sure you heard about it sometime in the news. I hope to get back to kung fu because its so fluid yet comprehensive in terms of hand to hand/legwork/clos...

Re: My struggle
I trained once in shotokan karate for 7 months when I was 14, thats where I picked up my kicking techniques (something wu wushu failed to provide). Unfortunately i was forced to stop my wu shu training due to financial strains as well as me having to move back to my home country. I have been practic...

Re: My struggle
Only going through with forms training without applying them to action or practicing sparring technique will make you good at just that, forms. However, when mixed with self defense application and sparring, with a good instructor that can explain the differences and many similarities, you can lear...

Dynamic stretching to do front splits?
The dynamic stretch in which you kick your foot to the back stretches the hamtring of the supporting leg, right? I remember doing so much of them with the right leg once that i just slide into a front split with my left leg in front. So as a question, if i do dynamic stretches everyday will it impro...

Hey dragon, I use socks when doing splits to aid the slipping. It even adds more difficulty to isometric side splits. If I stop using socks, will this slow down the progress of isometric side splits? Actually I just realized how stupid this question is. But now im thinking it would be better to use ...

Ok I know i've bugged you guys with this tension question, but I am still in doubt of something. Ok, now I want to make sure of one thing, and that is am I tensing the correct muscle (adductor) in the isometric side split or not. The book says to try to pinch the floor between your feet. Now I do th...

Hey guys I did isometrics yesterday for the front split and today i am sore because i havent done them in ages, the funny thing which surprises me is that I am sore on the adductors more than I would be if I tried the isometric horse stance for the side split, this got me thinking that maybe i am te...

What interests me is how you mentioned the isometric-side split, how do you go about doing it? What I once did before was to slide as far as possible into the side split as i could and then i would lift away my hands and try to stand without support for some second but someone here told me it was no...
