Re: adductor pulldowns
Hi Jimbo, Thanks for the reply. Its nice to get some feedback and to find out I'm not the only person having this problem. I think its just a matter of persevering with all the dynamic exercises (especially side leg raises in this case) and concentrating on correct form until flexibility improves. O...

Re: adductor pulldowns
Hi Cougarkid, Thanks for your feedback. You are right, I have read the books, watched the DVD, read all of Mr. Kurz's notes etc and am aware of the correct foot position and height that I should be raising my pulling leg in adductor pulldowns. Its just that the small increase in my flexibility wasn'...

adductor pulldowns
After finishing my sets of adductor pulldowns recently, I was interested to see if rotating my supporting foot rearwards (as in final position for roundhouse or side kick) would change the height I can raise my leg to the side when supporting the weight. I found that this rearwards rotation reduced ...

Sore Back
I am having trouble with my back getting sore after workouts (Taekwondo & strength training). I have been strength training for almost a year. My goal is side splits I had worked up to adductor pulldowns (25kg - 15rep sets of 3) isometrics 2-3 times a week, leg extensions (3 sets of 15 reps). Whole ...

Lack of progress
This question is directed to Mr Kurz if possible. I am 44 years old and recommenced training in TKD about 10 months ago. I also commenced flexibility training about the same time. I had been out of TKD for about 13 years. I have never been able to perform a side or front split. I have the DVD and bo...

Problems with latest General Discussion topics
Last week when I posted some questions about flexibility training and programs the forum was working OK. I checked the forum yesterday from home and the latest posts were on August 17 from Mr Kurz. They were not the latest posts from last week when Dragon and I were discussing programs etc. So, I ca...

Thanks Dragon. Ironically, I revised my program last night and its close to what you suggest. TKD has to be on Wednesdays & Fridays. My trainig goals are to achieve side splits for high roundhouse and side kicks. MONDAY: Strength workout (dead lifts, front lunges, adductor pull downs – all 3sets of ...

Flexibilty training
Thanks guys for the quick reply. I had my suspicions that I was over doing things. I'll take your advice and have Tuesdays off. Dragon, I have only been doing isometrics for side splits but have added some front split isometrics during the last couple of weeks. I had a hard TKD training last night a...

Hi. I’m a 44 year old Taekwondo black belt (5ft 4”, 60kg) who has been out of the sport for about 12 years and recommenced training about 4 months ago.
