lower back muscles

Post by D'Almeida »

i' ve always heard that are some drills that work upper abs and others that work lower abs. i would like to know if that also is valid for lower back muscles or if, for example, doing back extensions on the bench is enough to work the "whole thing".

The abdominals are one long muscle, there is no upper and lower as many people think.
Certain execises can stress the connective tissues differently though. For example you feel leg raises more in the lower portion.

Back extensions will work all of your lower back.I would advise a variety of exercises as well though.

Stiff leg deadlifts,good mornings,back extensions,45 degree back extensions,conventional deadlifts,reverse back extensions.

However, the lower back can be easily fatigued so i wouldn't perform all the exercises.
