cycling/walking
Is cycling and walking enough strenghtening to prevent knee injuries? Or to strengthen an injured knee?
Re: cycling/walking
Think you're going to have to be more specific......
Strengthen it for what? For power lifting, kicking, grappling, etc,i'd say no.

How injured and how recently? If it's severe and only just happened then you shouldn't do anything at all.If it's an old injury concerning muscle/ligament/tendon then it should be possible to strengthen.backinjured wrote:Or to strengthen an injured knee?

I'm talking about chronic injuries and well for possible future injuries
"but you still haven't fixed your knee problem?"
No, I haven't
Dragon helped me and some others too to think about a good conditionning program, to strengthen my body, but I'm really having trouble to find the time. There are so many exercises I would like to do. I want to recover from my injuries but also to strengthen the rest of my body. This makes my schedule so full.
However, I'm able to walk for two hours 5 days a week without problem and do maybe cycling an hour and a half 3 times a week. I was wondering if this could be enough because I'm not able to follow my complete strength/endurance and martial arts training schedule.

I know i've said it before so i apologize if i sound like a broken record, but i think you're trying to do too much.backinjured wrote: There are so many exercises I would like to do. I want to recover from my injuries but also to strengthen the rest of my body. This makes my schedule so full.
It's better to do a few things well than lots of things incorrectly.
My strength training consists of 2 workouts per week, each lasting about 45-60 mins(not including warm up at the beginning and stretching at the end).So there is more than enough time to include MA training, work and private life in my schedule.
I know from my own experience that for me,more sessions or more exercises within those sessions won't make me bigger, stronger,or more conditioned.
