hehe I'm not disappointed, I was asking because you kept repeating "my students" "students of mine", etc.

Well 6 or 7 months, that's not the answer I wanted but it's interesting anyway. I guess my question wasn't precise enough. I mean it takes me maybe 5 minutes or less to do 100 hindu squats if I'm doing them at medium speed. How long does it takes to do 1500?

If their problems disappeared, then I'm interested to know every exercises you suggested them and that they performed. Hindu squats I know but what are the others?

Thanks a lot

I don't believe CrazyBoy got to 1500 hindu squats by doing them once a week and nothing else. He's been improving his leg strength and general fitness with other exercises as well.

Mat pls excuse me for not adding that beside hindu squats I also trained with weights. That is until I injured my lower back. So yes, you might say that weight training helped me a lot improving my leg strength.
But I did them once a week because of this particular reason:
I trained my legs with weights on monday and on friday I did hindu squats. That's why Backinjured took me almost 6-7 months to get to this number.
Oh, you asked about how long does it take when performing 1500 squats: for me it takes 1h-1h and 15 minutes. But I read on Matt Furey's website that he did 2000 squats in 56 minutes. Well, I am not Matt Furey.
Hope I answered your question and pls excuse me for all the misunderstandings I've done.
Please say what's on your mind. I do not mind, at all.

Sorry, I worded my last reply rather harshly. I didn't mean to imply that you were being dishonest and I didn't believe you! What I meant to say was (to everyone else reading), be aware that simply doing hindu squats once a week isn't going to get anyone very far in terms of developing leg strength.

Cheers,
Mat

"doing hindu squats once a week isn't going to get anyone very far in terms of developing leg strength."
this is particularly interesting. What do others think about it? i know matt furey tells everyone it's one of the greatest exercise you could do for leg strength. and he wouldn't say what mat has just said.

Matt Furey insists that you do it every day.

If you want to do them daily you should do a few hundred reps but not a thousand or two or even more. I chose to do them once a week because it suits me well, and because I've noticed better improvements by doing them so. It strongly depends on how fast your body recovers from them.

Yes, but arent you improving because you're also doing other leg exercises on other days as well? I find it hard to believe you could develop any reasonable leg strength by doing hindu squats once a week and no other leg exercises.

Yes Mat I strongly agree: you cannot improve your leg strength by only doing hindu squats.

From what point of view do you find hindu squats useless?

They're only useless if you hope to get out of the exercise something they aren't intended for.
What are your goals in performing hindu squats and as CrazyBoy asked, what has been said that makes you think we(or I) are saying they're useless?
