Hindu Squats

Post by Jimbo »

I'm really getting into these squats, I can at present do two sets of 75, and hoping to do 1 set of 100 soon. However, I've never had any any guidance on technique apart from descriptions on the net. I understand these should be done relatively fast. I have two problems I hope someone can help with.

Firstly, when attempting to breath out going down, and in going up, I get dizzy after about 30 reps, hyperventilating I think its called.

Secondly, I occasionally get pain/spasms to the front left or right of my groin. This is not when I perform the squats, its usually the next day or 2 days later. Could this be caused by bad technique ?

Incidently, I been for the last 2 months working on push-ups, back extensions on a 45 degrees bench, crunches and hindu squats, so the other exercises shouldn't have caused a problem in the front of the groin should they ?

Any Squat experts assist with advice - I fear I may have been leaning forwards too much ?

Thanks Jimbo

Mr Kurz

Many thanks for the video of the Hindu push-ups and squats, thats just about cleared that up.

The pause at the upright position is what I wasn't doing, and so the breathing wasn't right, far too quick.

Also, I have found the swing in the arms, which you demonstrate, seems to make them easier.

Thanks again
