do fibrous connective tissues get stronger by getting bigger
I understand that the structural-strength of a muscle increases by doing strength-endurance exercises, especially at high reps, and that type 1 and IIa fibers determine the structural strength of a muscle, according to Kurz's sources. However, what exactly are the chronic physiological adaptations of strength-endurance exercises supposed to be or result in? Do the fibrous connective tissues in the body, including the ligaments, tendons, fascia, etc., get stronger by actually going through hypertrophy or by just getting stiffer? I would appreciate any response.
