Hindu Squats
Hindu Squats
I wonder how many hindu squats do you guys do? I read on a website that Karl Gotch did 9001. What's your personal record?
I know it's a little bit awckard, but I wanted to change the topic.

Re: Hindu Squats
It took me 1 month to get from 50 hindu squats to 400. I could probably have done a lot more but once I'm getting to 300+ I start to get a little bored!CrazyBoy wrote:I wonder how many hindu squats do you guys do? I read on a website that Karl Gotch did 9001. What's your personal record?

If I was after that kind of endurance I could aim to build up even more, but I have no need for it.
Cheers,

Hey, I had never been performing Hindu Squats before and I have a knee injury but still I've just done a few sets of 20 reps and another of 140. Is this normal? Because I don't feel my tighs sore I could have continued but since I have this injury I decided to stop. What kind of soreness are you supposed to feel with Hindu Squats?
If you're doing them correctly theyre supposed to be very good for strengthening the knees.backinjured wrote:Hey, I had never been performing Hindu Squats before and I have a knee injury but still I've just done a few sets of 20 reps and another of 140. If I've done a very long set of hindu squats I get sore in my quads.
If you're not feeling sore at all, try doing more

I felt more soreness in my feet and around my knees but not in the quads. The feet thing I believe it's because I'm lifting my heels too much. Or maybe I have weak feet muscles... So when you do 1000 repetitions, the last one is very hard to do? You usually train until you're almost not able to lift yourself again?
Yeah, I know this must seem unreal, but this is how I feel. For example, around the 300 reps my quads hurt, and afterwards, from 500 and up, they are perfectly relaxed. I've noticed, at me and even my students (whenever I make them do hindu squats) that you reach a certain limit and if you pass it you can keep on doing.
The only thing I can't take is that I get bored and that's why some music might help you relax.

Well ok, then I guess I didn't reach my max yesterday when I was doing hindu squats because my quads have never hurt. Next time I'll see if I could reach 300, but I must be careful too because of my knee injury.
Yeah I have this habit to train with music so I've tried this. A bit less boring.
Thank you all for your comments

Due to a soccer accident I have my shin broken just under where it connects with the kneecap, so I had some knee problems over the years. But not due to the injury itself, but to the bad treatment applied to it by the orthoped assistant who put my leg in gypsum (please correct me if I'm wrong) and ended up with a calcium conglomerate just under the knee.
So, I must tell that since doing them (Hindu squats) I haven't had any knee problems, but be carefull.

What sort of weird sounds? I once farted in the middle of my set and my wife almost passed out laughingbackinjured wrote:Does anyone of you experience some weird sounds each hindu squat you do? Is it happening only at the begginning?
And don't you think that we'll all get poor knees when we'll be in the 60s because we've overworked our knees?
