Asthma and endurance
Asthma and endurance
I'm Asthmatic since childhood and usually run out of breath very quickly when, for example, sparring or running. If I try to even push further after running out of breath I start coughing and can put myself in a really bad situation. Since taking up San Shou i've wanted to improve my endurance but thought I'd ask for advice on where to start (e.g. how long to run and at what pace) because I don't want to start too intense and end up injuring myself. Thanks in advance.

People say swimming helps because it will expand your lungs but I don't know if that will help with endurance. Hehe that sucks I guess then if I have to fight someone i gottamake sure to take them out with one blow or else i'm screwed, lol.

Re: Asthma and endurance
Hey yamugna,
As I mentioned in my older posts I also suffer from exercise induced asthma, something like laughing hard can also trigger it for me. I did notice that it has started to decrease though (the exercise induced asthma) but i'm not totally free of it. I still do wheeze and cough but thats after really intense exercise...however im fine jogging at a moderate steady pace. So it has improved a bit as I grew older, I'm 26 now btw.
