According to dvd Flexibility Express I have to deep-squat trying to sink deeper while putting the hips back and progressively squat to a wider stance (5 step-7 step). I have some questions:
1) Isometrics should be tried after a 5 step deep squat is achieved ( I mean at its maximum depth) or meanwhile trying a 7 step and small tension isometrics?
2) How general weight=strength training and this program can be combined? In the dvd Mr. Kurz says to use the proper weight in a 5 step deep squat in order to get lower. So, in a weight training day, I will do deadlifts, shoulder width deep squats, add flys etc and then at the end again let's say 3 sets of 10 reps 5 step deep squats and maybe isometrics? Or should
3) As I want pure strength and not gaining weight can I do 2 times a week 3 sets of 3 reps squats (shoulder width), deadlifts and then Mr. Kurzs program instead of 3 sets of 10 reps for instance?
Any answer would be appreciated . Thanks a lot...

Do isometric tensions whenever you need them to increase your ROM.Antonis wrote:1) Isometrics should be tried after a 5 step deep squat is achieved ( I mean at its maximum depth) or meanwhile trying a 7 step and small tension isometrics?
That depends on what duration of strength workout gives you best results, i.e., satisfactory progress from week to week. If putting both your general strength training and strength exercises of the Flexibility Express in one workout doesn't cause you signs of adrenal stress, and you see good gains in strength, then do it. Of course, if you have done your shoulder-width squats in the first part of your workout, you don't need to do the similar squats from the Flexibility Express program.Antonis wrote:2) How general weight=strength training and this program can be combined? I would not do deadlifts before squats or any exercises of the Flexibility Express, but rather after.

Thank you Mr. Kurz for the quick reply. your method seems really logical and practical (for someone who needs real strength). Of course everything you show seems easy because you do it ..Thomas Kurz wrote:Do isometric tensions whenever you need them to increase your ROM.Antonis wrote:1) Isometrics should be tried after a 5 step deep squat is achieved ( I mean at its maximum depth) or meanwhile trying a 7 step and small tension isometrics?

So if I understood well, I will first perfect (full range of motion) the 5 step squat with weights and isometrics and then proceed to 7step as you show in the dvd.
Thanks again and please keep on posting articles and videos...
Re: Flexibility Express --squats
How often can I stretch for side split using flexibility express as guide?
I'm 32 years old. Never did side split yet. I'm doing martial for about 17 years now, a little gymnastics.I'm very active in all kinds of sports.
Can i stretch every day?
PS. I'm big fun of Tomasz Kurz.
Thank you for your help.
