Adductor Fly before horse stance pnf

Post by The_Adam »

Hi guys, I recently started doing adductor fly training before doing my horse stance pnf split training. I would like to ask if anyone sees an issue with doing the fly before horse stance pnf?

It depends on the force you do your isometrics with and on the resistance and rep range in adductor flys. I would not do long sets of adductor flys before doing horse stance/splits with heavy weights or with very hard tensions. I also would not do adductor flys with heavy weights after horse stances with hard and long tensions/heavy weights. I stick to the general rule: strength before endurance.

Thank you for your reply Sir.

I go relatively heavy on the adductor fly, pyramid up per set from 10kg to 20kg (a pair of ankle weights so 10kg per leg max).
The rep range is relatively low, no more than 10 per set, for about 5 sets.
So I do not do the flies for a long duration with a light weight, I do them more like a typical bodybuilding set for any other muscle.

When i get to the pnf horse stance exercise next, the adductors are very exhausted. I use this to try to bring on the "clasp knife" effect, where the adductors must fail in order to rest because they cannot take any more tension.
