first form for kung fu
first form for kung fu
hi, does anyone have a video, or know anywhere i could see a vid for the first form, for getting the first sash in kung fu, ive learned about half of it so far, but id like to learn a bit more, thanks
sorry, I know it only as the first form, its wushu, i googled first form, and I’ve seen some pics that show parts of it...ill try describe, although its not easy......., start off , you speed your legs to shoulder width, at the same time bring your hands down to you groin, and cross over at the wrists, , then swing you arms up, still crossed at the wrist right up above your head, then at the same time squat down (in to horse stance I think) and stretch you arms out to each side, then while in the horse stance pivot to face the left , push your right arm trough and bring you left arm to the him, then, lick with the right leg, and punch with the left, at the same time.......there that’s a small part of it...the best I can explain does that help at all.?
If you're looking for the DVD then this place may be helpful. It's based in the UK and has some obscure Kung Fu styles/forms.

Sounds like you are learning 'long fist' (chang chuan).
Is this the form you are after?

By the way - you say you have learned half so far... any reason you are trying to jump ahead on your own in learning this? Surely it would be better to learn it from your teacher who taught you the first half? Beware of wanting to know too much too soon. Rather focus on making sure you can do what you know well. like they say one good punch is better than 25 badly executed techniques..!
