Thomas Kurz Handstands

Post by gtlaau »

Hi Mr Kurz

I was at a friends house the other day and saw your old stretching video where you guys do all those handstands etc...

I am interested to know if you guys are going to be teaching handstands on the tumbling dvd? and if you are not do you have any tips etc.. for a complete beginner.

I have been training against a wall for the last few weeks and i feel comfortable upside down. but when it comes to doing a free handstand i cant stay up more then 5-7 seconds.

And lastly will the tumbling dvd be out soon?

Thanks for your time

Yes, because it is a prerequisite for learning cartwheels and handsprings, but on this DVD instruction of the handstand stops at doing it against a wall and shifting balance from one arm to the other.

Nevertheless, all the important points of the handstand are covered--hand placement, body position, and where to look. If you want to learn or improve your free handstand, you just go through drills shown on the DVD, and then practice a little further from the wall, so your feet do not touch it.
