Push up vs. Bench Press

Post by jgfu »

Mr. Kurz,

What is the difference between this two exercises?

In many of your articles and videos (Flexibility Express for instance) you talk against the bench press and in other articles (report nr 7) you explain that is necessary do hundreds of push up.

If both are equal bad, what do you recommend me for Martial Arts?

Thank you.

Kindest Regards,
Javier Flórez Uría

What do you mean by a bench press and a push-up being "equally bad"?

Mr. Kurz,

I am sorry because of my English.
If both Pushup and bench press, might be bad, (as a possibility, not as a fact as I have written) what do you recommend me and why?

Kindest regards,
Javier

Every exercise can be done badly. I have given reasons why bench press harms most people who do them in my articles on injuries and posture: http://www.stadion.com/injuries-sports- ... re-part-1/
http://www.stadion.com/injuries-sports- ... re-part-2/

But ignorant people can do push-ups badly too. See this video:
