About two weeks ago, I developed a sharp pain in my lower back which was aggravated by shifting of weight from foot to foot. I think it may have been caused by running on uneven pavement.
The back pain has gone now, but has been replaced in the last two days with sharp groin pain towards the right side--I think it is a strain in the adductor muscles--which is also agravated by shifting of weight from foot to foot.
What could have caused this pain? I havn't been running in the past two weeks. However, I have been going to spinning classes often. But I thought cycling was good for groin injuries. Is this true? Can I keep cylcing?
groin pull
The lower back pain(caused by running on uneven surfaces) sounds like SI joint pain.
I've suffered from this myself and also found it caused refered pain in the lower abs/groin/adductors.
Never heard cycling being good for groin injuries before.I would imagine that it would still aggravate a muscle strain.
I heard that cycling could help SI problems and after trying it,it did work for me.
The best thing to do is get a professional diagnosis and find out if the groin pain is actual injury or refered pain.

reffered pain?
Thanks a lot!
I'm fairly certain it must be referred pain, seeing has how I'd done no running or activities that might cause a strain since my back pull. But what exactly is referred pain? The concept doesn't make sense to me, why would my body just move pain randomly around like that?
And how does that impact my recovery?

Pain can be felt in surrounding tissue that is affected by the primary injury.I've had a lot of success with trigger point therapy for many injuries i've recieved. Here is some info:-
