Quad Tear

Post by richardpaulhall »

I tore my right quad in a hockey pile-up seven years ago.
I have begun taking Taekwan Do and it was obvious to my instructor there was an "issue" with my right leg. It clearly has less flexabilty then my left when kicking, even thoough my right leg is dominant.

What dynamic stretches are available to counteract this weakness in my quad?

Dynamic stretches won't strengthen your quad, that would require correct strength training.Dynamic stretching will prepare you for kicking in your martial arts class, but even then,it will only prepare you for your current level of flexibility/ability.
Static stretches(isometrics if you can handle them) for your thigh/hip flexors and adductors would help increase the ROM.

As always, you need the go ahead from a good doctor before taking any advice from a forum though.
