Hi,
I thought this would be the best place to post this topic as this is the source where I learned about this diet (thank you Mr Kurz!). I am about to start the diet and thought it would be nice to have a place to discuss and share ideas and recipes based on Dr Kwasniewski’s advice. I live in the UK so some of the recipes provided in the book just are not practical (for me anyway). I plan on sticking to the principles (1:3:0.5) and foods recommended, but create my own simple dishes. For example, for lunch I will stir fry chicken livers in goose fat, maybe with some onion and a boiled potato.
I am hoping that other people, especially the few in the UK who have heard of this diet like me, will post here with their thoughts and recipes and results from eating this way. Clearly it has worked for Mr Kurz!
One other thing: I am in good shape but I do have little ‘love handles’ on my hips that seem not to budge no matter how well I ate following other diets (such as The Zone). I have this even though you can see my ab muscles pushing through at the front of my torso! I suspect this is due to my utterly shocking diet for the first 20 years of my life (one word: sugar). I am hoping I can get rid of this excess fat using Dr Kwasniewski’s principles. Does anyone else suffer from this and if so have they got rid of it using the Optimal Diet?
