Why do programs always offer classes 2 days apart?

Wouldn't it be better if they were on, for example, mondays and thurdays instead of tuesdays and thursdays. It would be easier to fit in other non-technical workouts into your schedule. Surely, you can't go to class on tuesday, and then have a strength workout on wednesday just to go to class again on thursday. What does everyone do about this?

The reason I'm asking is because I want to start martial arts, but I want to do it the right way. I am studying hard the books and videos offered by Stadion and from others they recommend. In searching for a school, I came across this, and I was wondering if it's just another problem that comes with so many uneducated instructors or if it's actually a good thing. After seeing sample workout plans in Stadion's products, I am not sure what to think as I can't remember seeing any that scheduled technical workouts only two days apart.

I've found the same thing, too. However, they usually offer Friday or Saturday classes, so you could do Monday/Friday, Tuesday/Saturday, or Wednesday/Saturday (if you're willing to give up your Friday nights or Saturday afternoons). Otherwise, you could try doing MA on Tuesday, strength or endurance on Wednesday, and MA again on Thursday. It's not ideal, but it won't kill you to try it and evaluate your body's response. The Wednesday workout would probably have to be light to moderate, but that goes well with the wavelike method of training (see Mr. Kurz's 42nd column, Three Methods of Gradually Increasing Training Loads). Then you can do your heavier workouts after Thursday. If you notice, whenever someone tells Mr. Kurz their routine and asks for his opinion, he'll say what he thinks is wrong with it but finish with "However, if you're pleased with your progress, don't change it."

Thank you for responding. It's been a long time since I posted.
