Hi Guys,
I notice in the DVD Secrets of Stretching that Tom is wearing trainers while lowering into the side splits from the horse riding stance (7 step).
I usually do this with bare feet but feel myself slipping as I reach my maximum stretch and have to stop because it becomes too painful.
However with trainers I have more control and can maintain good form but as I go further down, the edge of the trainers dig into my ankles causing discomfort.
Do you recommend a particular pair of shoes to wear for this exercise.
I'm wondering if rock climbing shoe will do the trick.
(The trainers I’m currently wearing are running shoes)

A climbing shoe will do. Wrestling or boxing shoes or boots do nicely too.
