Sport classification of Taekwondo

Tom,

I have your Stretching Scientifically and Science of Sports Training books, both are excellent. How would you classify Taekwondo as a sport? In sections you have examples of of technical, speed, endurance, etc, I was curiouss on how you would classify Taekwondo?
