Pops

Post by dglover »

I bought Stretching Scientifically a few weeks ago. I have been using the techniques and have been seeing progress. I have a stretching machine and it shows that I have gone from 100 degrees to 150 in about three weeks.

I still have a long way to go before I can get in chairs, but I am diggin' this book...

Now to my question....

I have been noticing that my joints pop more. There is no pain associated with the pops. When I was young, I remember my mom walking and listening to her ankles pop and creak. I am just wondering if this is hereditary or something I should be concerned about.

My doctor says, "No pain, no need to come in." I say, if I can avoid something before it comes to pain, I'd like to do it. I would much rather be proactive. I have had sciatic nerve pain before and don't want to go through that again.

If you've bought Stretching Scientifically, you might want to look at page 158 in the bottom of the page SOUNDS IN AND AROUND JOINTS, you'll get a clear explanation!

Note: I have the Fourth Edition! book

I also get these sounds in my ankles and elbows sometimes and I only have the Video, Is it a sign of over doing it cause I've always been a bit clicky and I don't push myself to the max?
Cheers.
