Hello Tom et al,
hopefully you can help I am a first year student on a sport health and fitness degree in the UK ( and a very mature student at nearly 50 ) - as part of one of our modules we have to do a gym instruction which requires not only a design of a routine for use in the university gym with a client who will have an induction to the equipment and the various protocols, i.e. Warm up,Preparatory stretches, CV training, resistance training ( machines ), body weight exercises , cool down and maintenance / developmental stretches - as part of the process we are expected to use in the preparatory stretches ( as guided by the governing body static stretches ) as opposed to dynamic stretches - which i know are what you mr Kurz you would recommend - can you give me some detailed ( but not too much since of word count ) explanation for why it would be preferable to use dynamic stretches in the prep phase as opposed to what they desire - many thanks in advance Anthony

Info you seek, with references, is in articles below:

I understand you need the sport health and fitness degree for your work, no matter how stupid the curriculum designers and teachers. You can be sure this bunch is as knowledgeable about other areas of sport health and fitness as they are about flexibility.
Good luck putting up with lots of nonsense.
