Post by Kayum »

Is it possible to stretch the hips joints to the box splits without causing long term damage at the age of 26, i have heard somebosy say that it can only be done safely if you been trained from a young age, i;ve been training acrobatics / martial arts for 5 years.

In order to perform the splits the hip joints don't need to be stretched. There are many young gymnasts/martial artists who probably have permanenty altered their bodies to perform the techniques that are required from them, but it isn't needed for the splits.

Here is an article about correct alighnment for the splits.
