Hi all,
Hi Thomas, thanks for the activate, no flies on you.
I saw on the Stretching Scientifically DVD adductor flys being performed with weights attached. Those look like special weighted boots going on or something.
I have ankle weights (the kind you strap around the ankles) and I also have dumbbell bars and various weights with it. I'm wondering who makes those weighted boots or if anyone has experimented with attaching dumbbell bars somehow and using that.. a bit of a preference as I'm trying to not grow too much equipment as that isn't practical where I live. I'm quite happy to butcher an old pair of trainers specifically for that purposes.
Interestingly I was a while managing 100 adductor flys (flies??) comfortably but nearly no time at all adding 2kg per foot with the ankle weights then doing the same.
Any thoughts?

For info on iron boots see the latest post at http://www.stadion.com/mailings/mailings.html .
I don't know what you want to say.Cat Monster Dave wrote: Interestingly I was a while managing 100 adductor flys (flies??) comfortably but nearly no time at all adding 2kg per foot with the ankle weights then doing the same.

Thanks for the link..
It took me a good couple of months or so to be able to do 100 adductor flys without stopping, but having reached that point then a couple of days later I strapped 0.5kg on each side, completed 100 no problem. Couple of days later 1.5kg attached, 100 no problem, then next time 2kg on each side and again completed 100 without too much difficulty.
One of those nice occasions where progress comes quicker than we expect.
At the moment my legs part to about 120 deg, my teenage years spent cycling were not too helpful in this respect (I'm now 33). I am curious though how much weight other people use for these exercises and how close to splits they are.
So far as goes the "Secrets of Stretching" DVD and "Stretching Scientifically" book thanks a lot for giving me hope where previously there was none. It is proving to be a fascinating journey.
I'm quite enjoying the whole process and will be moving on to isometric stretches perhaps in a couple of months, or a little longer. I am in no crazy rush to progress quickly in that respect as there is plenty time.
