What are dynamic strenght exercises and how to perform them? Do i need to go to gym to perform them or can i do them at home? Do i need weights for them? Is there a site with pictures for dynamic strength exercises?
Thank you.
What is a dynamic strenght exercise?
Hi,
They are exercises that concentrate on dynamic conditioning as opposed to one rep max strength.
They use an entire range of motion with high reps/low resistance to strengthen the connective tissues. So to answer your question, yes, they can be done at home(probably the easiest form of training to do at home as it requires minimal training equipment).
Two different examples of the same exercise would be the lunge.
A "bodybuilding" lunge would use high weight for low to medium reps(5-12) to build muscle.
A dynamic strength lunge would use low weight for high reps(30-200) to condition the connective tissues.
I don't know of any websites that deal soley with dynamic strength exercises, sorry.
Dragon.

Re: What is a dynamic strenght exercise?
Dynamic exercises are those in which you move (lifts, pulls, pushes), as opposed to static in which you don't (isometrics). It is the movement or lack of it--not the number of repetitions or the pace of movement--that defines an exercise as dynamic or static.pliskin wrote:What are dynamic strenght exercises and how to perform them?
For definitions of various forms of dynamic strength see Science of Sports Training. Types of strength exercises are described there too.
You don't need a gym to move while overcoming resistance (dynamic strength exercises) or tensing while not moving (static strength exercises).pliskin wrote:Do i need to go to gym to perform them or can i do them at home?
If you are too weak to use your own body's weight as resistance, then you may need light weights (books, stones, dumbbells). If you want to work on your explosive strength then you may need other kinds of weights too (medicine balls, barbells).pliskin wrote:Do i need weights for them?

There are many such sites. But you can see a great variety of strength exercises in Explosive Power and Jumping Ability for All Sports.
