what age is safe for kids to do light weight training/strength training like assisted pull-ups and exercises with light weights?

Pull-ups can be done even at the age of 6. Children as young as 7 or 8 year can work with resistance that can be overcome 12 to 15 times per set *without a strong effort of will* (see the definition of maximal training resistance in “Science of Sports Training” for details how to tell if a resistance requires a strong effort of will). More on recommended amounts of resistance for children of various ages is in “Children and Sports Training” by J. Drabik.

It is strength trainings slower child to gain height. Can you advice what strength training for children ages 4 up that will not slow down height gain
